The Winter 2011 newsletter produced by Dugan & Lopatka has an interesting article about smartphoneapps and the regularly breach the privacy of users from certain applications. Personal data is shared without knowledge or consent of the users. The article points out that smartphone owners often store a lot of information on their phones that can be a valuable commodity to online tracking companies. There are no options for blocking or deleting intrusive browser cookies like you have on your PC. See the attached article for more info…..

It takes a little work to know what it all means! Technology has always had its share of new terms and acronyms. Small businesses need to understand some of the technology language so they can better participate in the decision making of their networks.
