PCI Compliance deadline has been changed to August, 2010. For all of you that have been rushing to be in compliance you now have a little breathing room. According to our contact at Trustwave, the compliance deadline has been changed from July 1 to some time in August. We will post the new compliance deadline when it becomes available. Look for an email blast from Sage Software sometime next week with the official announcement.

The week of May 17 was Sage’s annual Insights Conference held in Denver, CO. At the conference a Sage product was highlighted that assists not-for-profit organizations with processing donations on their website. Donate Now is a very low cost solution ($50.00) that provides a template for adding credit card processing to the organization’s website.

PCI compliance has come to MAS90 version 4.30.0.18. Sage has released an implementation guide for PA-DSS, Payment Application Data Security Standard. The guide instructions merchants, resellers and integrators on how to implement Sage MAS 90 and 200 into their environment in a PA-DSS compliant manner. While it is not a complete guide it is sufficient to implement in a standard MAS 90 environment.

If you haven’t looked at your Visa & MasterCard credit card processing costs since April 1, 2009 you’re not doing your due diligence or your business any justice. Nobody has just one rate and if you don’t know the impact of discount rates, transaction fees, Interchange, downgrades, per item fees, Address Verification, PCI Compliance and a host of other factors, you had better get educated quickly because it’s probably costing you money!

Reporting of credit card transactions is very important part of managing the credit cards your business processes. Sage Payment Services processes your credit card charges through a web portal with some standard reports. SPS also provides a fantastic on-line reporting tool.

MAS90 has had the capability to process credit cards for a long time. Sage had partnered with PC Charge to create a gateway. When MAS 90 version 4.20 was launched Sage had an alternative; Sage Payment Solutions.
