Utility to copy master files to a new company

Copy Master Files to a New Company - SVTRNA

Most Sage 100 (MAS 90) users are familiar with the Copy button in Library Master > Company Maintenance. This is often used to create test companies or backup companies. But have you ever needed to create a new company and just copy the master files without the data? Sage has a utility that allows you to do this.

First, create your new company in Library Master > Main > Company Maintenance. Activate the modules that will be used in this company by clicking on the Activate button. Make the new company your active company and go into General Ledger Setup Options. The General Ledger Setup Wizard will appear. Click on next. You will be able to copy the GL structure from an existing company without all the GL data. Follow the prompts to create the GL structure. If you don't want to copy a GL structure, you can create a new GL structure.

You will need to create the data files and work through the wizards in the new company for CI and whichever modules you want to copy.

Next, in the new company, click on File >Run on the Sage 100 (MAS 90) toolbar and enter "svtrna” (without the quotes). The following box will appear:

Enter the company you want to copy from and the module information you wish to copy. For AP, you will see the following screen:

Select the information you want to copy and then click the Copy button. Each masterfile will have its own options.

Continue with the remaining modules until you have copied the master files that you need. As always, when you need to use this utility and have any questions, just give us a call. We hope this helps you get more out of your investment in Sage 100 (MAS 90).
