Old System Losing Power

For many years V&F Transformer ran their operation on an old DOS-based software application. However as the business grew and operations became more complex, this proprietary system could no longer provide the detailed tracking, reporting and analysis required to run the business effectively. They were creating work orders by hand because it was quicker and easier than using the system ... but too often the paperwork was misplaced or lost which delayed jobs and affected delivery dates. To make matters worse, they were forced to create journal entries and manually transfer data into Peachtree in order to manage accounts payable, receivables and generate financial reports. The breaking point finally came when the owners laid out an aggressive plan to double the business within a few years. "Everyone realized that it could not be done without a new system to lay the foundation for a more efficient and profitable operation,” recalls Leeann Millar, Controller.
